We know "vetted" is a word that gets thrown around loosely. Here's exactly what we check before any contractor is admitted to the ARK Network — and what we require them to uphold every day.
Every contractor completes all six steps before their first match. No shortcuts.
Every contractor application begins with identity verification. We confirm the applicant's full legal name, business name, and Florida business registration before any further review.
We verify active contractor licenses through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). We confirm the license is current, in good standing, and covers the trade being offered. Expired or suspended licenses result in automatic rejection.
We require a current Certificate of Insurance (COI) showing general liability coverage of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and workers' compensation where required by Florida law. We verify the policy directly with the insurance provider.
All contractors undergo a criminal background check covering the past 7 years. Any felony conviction or history of fraud, theft, or violence results in disqualification. We use a third-party screening service to ensure objectivity.
We contact a minimum of three professional references — past clients or project managers — and ask specific questions about quality of work, punctuality, communication, and professionalism. References must be verifiable and from the past 24 months.
Before admission to the network, every contractor completes a structured interview with an ARKowners team member. We assess communication skills, professionalism, knowledge of their trade, and commitment to our code of conduct.
Admission is just the beginning. Every contractor in our network signs our Code of Conduct and agrees to these standards on every job. Violations result in immediate removal.
Any contractor who receives a substantiated complaint about fraud, unsafe work, or unprofessional conduct is removed from the network immediately — no second chances for serious violations.
We re-verify licenses and insurance annually. Contractors whose credentials lapse are suspended until they provide updated documentation.
We track every match and follow up with homeowners after project completion. Contractors who consistently receive positive feedback earn priority placement in our network.
